B is for Beatrix and Bambi

ABC Wednesday dawns with the second letter of the alphabet which always brings to mind one of my favorite English children’s book author and illustrator Beatrix Potter (1866-1943) whose birthday is today. Happy Birthday BEA!

and I found my own special Bambi this week peeking out of the cat tails. You can peek back here.

We often go over to the Lake District on our motorbike and see lots of Beatrix potter examples in her hometown. A lovely area for inspiration.

Classic children's tales! She was a great naturalist - we have a book called 'Wayside and Woodland Fungi' which is illustrated by her. It's a joy simply to dip into it.
The Japanese seem to be fascinated by Beatrix Potter - I think most of the little children I taught visited her home.

Happy Birthday, Beatrix Potter! As a child I especially enjoyed "The Tale of Two Bad Mice" I always fely that they had more of right to Lucinda's dollhouse than did Lucinda.

You Bambi is delightful in his alert pose.

My greatgrandson is now reading the Beatrix books and will soon be ready for Bambi. We've seen a few of him in the wild! :)

Hi Noni! When I was in the Lake District, I bought some books illustrated by Beatrix Potter. They are so lovely. I was only there for a couple of hours, and I should like to stay there for some weeks.
Great choice!
Your Bambi is adorable.
