Call me Cruciferae, but call me!

I've never planted ornamental cabbage because I don't know how to think about 'gilding the lily' after a fun-filled and colorful season of annuals. However, this beauty turned my head on our frosty Saturday walk and like a lot of things, caused me to re-think my umm, prejudice, if you will. So, here's to loveliness and purpose in all seasons! To see more beautiful flowers visit the virtual flower show, Today's Flowers, hosted by Luiz & Denise.

I love this plant. Very similar to English, in Argentina we call it "repollo de jardín" (garden's cabbage).

I enjoyed your photograph. Ornamental cabbages are a very interesting plant. I was looking at them yesterday in a garden nursery.

A wonderful, wonderful photo with the frost on it! WOW!!!
The cabbage family are pretty frost hardy as Brussel sprouts need a frost before picking.

I love those--I may try one for next year.

For the first time in ages I linked to my Musings blog and saw your comment. I've been lax in posting on both blogs but especially that one.

I did see Nick Cave and all I can say is that he rocked the house. What a performer!! He put himself into that show 150% as did the Bad Seeds. If you ever get a chance to see him live GO!

(thanks for the comment and yes, I adored Calvin and Hobbes and wish it was still around, sigh)

That's gorgeous, in an other-worldly kind of way. Might alter some of my prejudices, too! Hope you're looking forward to a wonderful week!
