compare and contrast

This is a bend on the trail that is a favorite of mine because of the stately birch trees--and the fact that it marks a half way point on my walk.
On the right is how it looked in late winter before the leaves appeared. . .and much greener in early June. It is a lovely spot to look up at the sky in any season and once in awhile a deer will be hiding in the dense undergrowth.
See more sky views at Skywatch Friday.

Note to self:
Smile first, ask questions later.

  1. What a difference in those two shots. I love the greenery, but there is also something appealing in the winter scene. Nice contrast.

  7. Beautiful trail to walk, - such a difference between the warm blue of a summer sky and the wintry paleness of the winter sky.

  8. Amazing how the fresh green leaves make such a difference. Both are nice but spring is lovely.

  9. Bare branches or green; a blue sky enhances them.

To live in the presence of great truths and eternal laws, to be led by permanent ideals--that is what keeps a man patient when the world ignores him, and calm & unspoiled when the world praises him.
