Flowers by Fibonacci

Apple blossoms that would make Fibonacci proud~~found on a very old apple tree in Bald Eagle-Otter Lakes Regional Park

This spring's fashion statement: white with red stripes [enlarge for a better view]. Some things never go out of style~~visit Mary's meme Ruby Tuesday for more red beauty.

  1. I love your reference to Fibonacci. When I was first a school librarian a math teacher sent her whole class down to the library with an assignment to write about numbers in nature. These were early days, before I had convinced the teachers that they should warn me about these things in advance. I learned about Fibonacci sequences in a big hurry, but not before some anxious moments. Never forgot the man or his numbers.

Thanks for the reminder of those fun old days!

  4. The subtlety of the rubies of the flora is great. It takes a mere amount of red to capture our fancy, the look of Spring in the Lad-o-Lakes is one of beauty and (hopefully) no more snow!

To live in the presence of great truths and eternal laws, to be led by permanent ideals--that is what keeps a man patient when the world ignores him, and calm & unspoiled when the world praises him.
