Don't forget your umbrella!

Weather is a great metaphor for life - sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad, and there's nothing much you can do about it but carry an umbrella.

Rain falling on the Midway at the University of Chicago, Hyde Park, in the summer of 2006, my last summer there. I took this photo from the law library looking northwest toward the city.

Another rainy day in Washington, D.C. last March. About l/4 of Erica and her umbrella can be seen as we wandered in Georgetown while she was on spring break. The photo below is a small rain washed garden between buildings.

ABC Wednesday, Round 3, has reached the letter 'R' this week. For more interesting R photos, visit Mrs Nesbitt here.

I love the brick sidewalk there. And that gate looks gorgeous.

Ah, yes, rain... that's a good one! I love how you captured it on the glass! And it really makes the sidewalk brick color stand out so brightly!
Nice post!

I like this quote. I own several umbrellas! Also the anthuriums below are gorgeous. And thanks very much for visiting my Begonias photo on Flowers for Today last week. I really appreciate it. Sara

Nice shots of the rain. I don't mind it if I have my umbrella. I finally found mine.

I love the rain. We have 'wintry' and windy weather with a bit of rain here in Waikiki today. Clean and wonderful & cozy! Aloha-
Anturiums! from Hawaii?

Great quote! I think rain is a matter of attitude--it can be a welcome respite when you've been without it so long.
Love that last photo with the gate.

This is great ABC post, Nonizamboni! Makes me happy. Makes me feel warm and cozy, but then, it's what so many of us up here in the Great Northwet with webbed feet warm to. :)
Truly, I like all three shots....and I couldn't think of a good R for today.

I love the rain. We haven't had any in Orange County yet this Fall. These photos made me want the rain to come even more!

I did rain too! But your photos are much more attractive. The Washington street looks just like I imagined - or have seen in West Wing!

What a great rain mood picture! Love the rain on the window-at least I hope it is not your camera!

Even though rainy days are usually gloomy, your photographs are a lovely reminder that there is beauty on a rainy day also.
Great shots.

We welcome rain this year in California. We need it our reservoirs and on parched forest where wildfires rage.
I love your first photo were the raindrops on the window give me cozy feeling of being warm and dry inside.
