'Mackerel skies and mares tails, soon will be time to shorten sails.'

A lot of June was rainy and bleak in Minnesota; the skies remained cloudy for days at a time. This photo captures one of those rainy days on White Bear Lake with the water the same gray as the sky. See more skies from around the globe at Skywatch Friday.

Quiet and subdued. Looks like a scene waiting to wake up and be full of action again.

I've encountered tons of rainy skies as well, the reflections here are very nice.

Looks like a gloomy day. Wish we could get some oof the rain over here to break our drought.

Dull grey day maybe - but they can be the most invigorating of all, sometimes - provided you're wearing the right gear :-)
Beautiful shot, telling the tale.

So serene - wonderful! Thanks so much for your lovely comment it really was nice. I have had a terrible night - a friend had been so cruel and I was very upset as he said some very unkind and untrue things - your comment lifted me - thank you xxx

Oh, water! I'd love to be there if only for a moment. (Can you tell that I live in the desert and am feeling a little dry?)
