Indian Summer surprises

Walking in the September woods I came to a fork in the road and was surprised by this beauty just feet in front of me. The expression on his face matched what he saw in mine, I'm sure.
In typical deer fashion, I'm learning, his curiosity delayed his departure...much to my delight.
[note his whiskers]

The woods were full of my favorite autumn asters.

The aster greets us as we pass
With her faint smile.

How lovely to see you again :-) :-)

What a wonderful surprise you had - I always just melt when I see deer. I can never quite believe how quickly such large animals can disappear.

Hope your new abode is living up to and beyond expectations :-)

Noni, what a lovely surprise indeed! Very nice the two pictures of the deer among the flowers, and I like the other small images too.
Happy Tuesday!

Hi Noni :) Thanks for the comment. I think I just grew tired of blogging, then I went on Facebook where we speak in sound bites! Now I have a job that keeps me REALLY busy so I just read blogs, and don't write them. Where in Minnesota do you live - did you know we are now in Winnipeg? Probably just north of you...Dave is driving to Minneapolis on Sunday for a conference and then flying to Albany to see Thom and family. Too bad I work now, I could come and have coffee with you!!!

What pleasant surprise to catch him looking at you or was it you looking at him? Haha!

That is a classic expression perfectly captured. What a beautiful setting.
