looking forward

About this time of year motorcyclists start to go a bit stir crazy until a few swap meets show up on the winter calendar to help them 'maintain' until the riding season starts. That is usually April in Minnesota, with any luck. Sunday I went with Dave to a [mostly] Harley swap meet in Anoka. Since we don't ride a Harley it seemed odd to be poking around the parts for sale, but. . .I did find some red--boxes full of various painted parts. And with a little deeper digging I found two old readers circa 1944 once used in the Minneapolis school system for sale at a booth best described as 'eclectic.'
More reds can be found at Ruby Tuesday. Happy February!

Men seem to love old parts whether or not it's something they can use. :)
I would have bought those old books for sure.
Have a great Ruby Tuesday!

I only have been to MN a few times as an adult - the Twin Cities, MSP, Big Stony Lake and Park Rapids. But only in the Summer! I would think that after the Winter on the plains, the inhabitants are ready to enjoy the outdoors ASAP - hence the motorcycle fenders. Restore in the Winter and ride in the Summer? It seems, but at any swap meet or flea market, there are many treasures to yet be unearthed. That reader with the helicopter is outstanding, their view of the future...

Those old readers really caught my eye. Especially Looking Forward - there is a famous book by Edward Bellamy called Looking Backward.

I like the rubies you managed to find at the swap meet, especially the old readers.

I am laughing at Carletta's comment. Men seem to like to look at those old parts even if they don't need them. ;-)

Happy belated Ruby Tuesday ~
