This looks like a fence post surrounded by flowers of beauty. A fence is used to keep things out, but don't bother telling the flowers - they will accommodate the fence by growing through it...

I love nasturtiums. They're so prolific and generous, too. The flowers and leaves look pretty in salads and taste peppery. The seed heads can be pickled for 'Poor man's capers' - I've got some waiting to be pickled right now.
