“There was a knight came riding by, In early spring, when the roads were dry..."

Minnesotans are incredibly spartan and courteous. But, for the life of me, I don't know how they've continued to live with these long winters! Winter of 2011 has gone down on the record books for most snow, duration and percentage of soul sucking, but whenever there is even an indication of sun you'll find them out and about, like this guy--I snapped this picture outside of Minneapolis, temperature 49 degrees. Windchill? You do the math.

Ah, and how much you must appreciate spring! My middle son only gets cold in -10 degrees weather, and we have to travel to Vermont to experience that.

"...duration and percentage of soul sucking..." That's just about the best phrase I've heard to describe what all you people of north have had to put up with this past winter. It hasn't been an easy one for anybody, I guess. Your photos sum up the pure desperation for springtime. Great post.

Love the sporty red convertible car! That driver is not letting the cold ruin their fun :)

It has also been an unusually long cold snowy "winter into Spring" here! I am hoping that summer will not be tortuously hot and humid.
