beauty and the beast

You thought maybe I was kidding?
These are all photos I took on walks last week, gathering bits of August to remember...then I ran into this guy guarding his house and bird feeders. Scary. Sometimes life is just too funny, eh?
Have more red fun @ Ruby Tuesday.

Delightful flowers! Love the one with the black? trim! Most unusual! And such a ferocious house guard! Adorable!

That black flower with the yellow bits (is that a petunia?) looks like something that would grow in Edgar Allen Poe's (or Darth Vader's!) garden! It's beautiful, but kind of sinister.

And that is one fat cat! Looks like he guards his food dish well, too!

I love your line about taking walks and gathering bits of August to remember. I've been doing the same, but hadn't thought of it that way!

Cats are territorial, and will not accept an interloper threatening his/her goodies- feline or human! Our Linus does not go outside but does have over 1400 sq. ft of territory within four walls. Plenty big for a mere 12 pound cat...

The flowers are lovely, and the black one is so cool, as it has a neat shape but minus the bold pastels we think of on flowers. A unique find!

Why, the beast looks kind of cute!

ENAMORED OF RED

Enamored of red
I lie in my bed,
Dreaming of cherry-filled crèmes;

For red is the shade,
The prettiest made,
That gives me the sweetest of dreams.
