Its Wednesday and this is my 700th post [I know! can't shut up] thus the fair spotted one happily leaping along. I'd like to think in joy, but I know better.
Another great H-word is represented by this guy I captured at Como Lake on a walk this weekend. Two other great blue herons were just leaving, disgruntled and barking like dogs, when I came around the bend to see this guy, no worse for wear, holding his/her ground.
More happy @ ABC Wednesday.

Nice capture of the baby deer.
My ABC entry, please come and see!
Sounds like those happy days will soon be over since the temperature is beginning to drop already. A walk around Como is always a treat!!
happy days, now and in the future.

It's a lovely shot, even though you're probably right and the deer isn't ecstatic but frightened! Your photo of the heron is a classic - beautiful silhouette:-)
Wow .. congrats and I love that leaping fawn
And happy 700th! Great fawn and wonderful heron!

Congratulations on your 700th post! I'm sure all of us are very happy that you "can't shut up." :-)
The spotted fawn photo is quite amazing - when they bolt like that, they move fast! Great capture. I know the poor baby was startled and frightened, but unlike our species, at least they calm down as soon as the perceived threat has passed. We humans would still be stressing about it days later, telling our friends about it, seeking therapy... lol
The heron is beautiful. I wonder what had the others in an uproar, and if this one who remained was thinking, "Gee, was it something I said?"
I LOVE the cartoon! Wouldn't that have been perfect on my SkyWatch post of Tess in her Doggles?
