note to self: always buy nice shoes

Talk about red! This is a photo of my dad's brother Fred and his family Mickey, Rickie, Ronnie and Aunt Frances circa 1954. Check out her wonderful shoes! Uncle Fred, now pushing 90, has walked every day to and from his own business, and lived in the same red brick house since the 1950's.

Oh, Nonie... what a smile you gave to me! Always buy nice shoes! You mean my clogs won't *do* in the family photo?!!!!!!!!! Wonderful photo, btw. There should be more signs like Fred's.

What a lovely picture, the family looking nice. Mom looks especially nice, she dressed up a bit more in her ruby dress. We don't see many nice color prints from that day, this well preserved print is great. The neon sign on Fred's store is a work of art, the look of the quality of service from the past...

Great family photo with lots of red. Yes, her shoes are nice! It's fun to notice how people were more conservative with their smiles than today.

Great family photo. People got dressed up! Is it really a colour photo or is it coloured afterwards. Hmmm, 1954. It must a colour print that has shifted colour with time, I think.
Lovely.
Best wishes,
Anna
