What?

Always a little wary of taking photos of people's homes but I had to risk it to capture the expression on this watch-cat. He/she had a wonderful vantage point onto the neighborhood street from its regal tuffet. No denying the expression.
Below is my very own watch-cat in her many moods. . .only seen between naps.

bliss is where you find it

It was late autumn but still warm enough to walk around Como Lake. The songbirds were gone from the bare trees and the lake itself already had patches of ice. Gaining on the parking lot I slowed when I heard water splashing. Here was a lone robin who found a bit of unfrozen water near the shore and was bathing with abandon. It warmed my heart and I've hung onto this moment throughout our long winter as a dear sign of spring.

all good amaryllis wishes

I took this photo of the reddest amaryllises at the Como Conservatory a spring or two ago. They are bringing my good wishes for the exciting days ahead. Visit Today's Flowers for all things beautiful to start your week.

Amazed?

I'm not sure if this really could be considered trespassing, but on a walk one day last week I caught this guy watching out the window and zoomed in as close as possible. What a dear fluffy creature and what a life to be a cat!

See more Camera Critters here. And as I read somewhere, 'Have the courage to still be amazed.'

blue skies over St. Paul

More blue skies from Minnesota!

I took this sky view this morning while walking in a St. Paul neighborhood near Como Park. The church's coat of many colors was beautifully enhanced by the vivid blue sky and vice versa.

I'm sick of winter!

I took these photos of the sky over the Como Park conservatory in St. Paul at noon today, SO

let the record show that on this date the sun came out and the sky was blue for one solid day--an event not witnessed for at least 7 days beforehand. I can prove it by the photo below of the Capitol in St. Paul that I took last week. That was the only day that week the sun was out too. For more beautiful sky views and less whiny commentary from fellow photographers, visit SkyWatch Friday. Happy weekend!

The old cathedrals are good,
but the great blue dome that
hangs over everything is better.

that same ole' sky

Two different views of the same sky from inside the botanical gardens I visited in St. Paul last week. On the left is a bird's eye view from the new rainforest exhibit called Tropical Encounters.
The sky's reflection falls on a lovely fountain statue is from the Sunken Garden's winter flower show.
See more sky views here.
Happy Friday!
