The John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon I posted about a few days ago ended yesterday with the closest finish in the marathon's history: winner was Ryan Anderson of Ray, Minnesota and Defending champion Nathan Schroeder of Chisholm crossed the finish line just behind him.
My pics show how clear and cold the day was with a bright blue Minnesota sky.
See more beautiful skies at SkywatchFriday.
Then tune in to the YouTube Video below of both the two and four-legged finishers.
Happy Friday!

Cold maybe, but such clear and blue skies! Lovely shots.
Sure does look cold.. Here in Ohio sky has been either blue or gray.. no in between
pretty awesome, thanks for sharing...I think my standard poodle would have made a good sled dog, she can really pull when she wants to go!!!

Good Luck in the
Year of the Golden Rabbit!
Fun photos for Sky Watching, somehow I think the cold makes the sky just that little bit bluer and crisper. Have a great weekend.
Beautiful and fun!
Congratulations, and what a great shot.
Your sky sure was Blue..but always good to see an occasional cloud floating by.
Your skies are much like the Big Sky country of Montana.
Very interesting!
I love dogs and have three Siberian Husky, I'd love to have a good marathon to untie dog with my dogs, but here where I live it makes little snow.
A greeting and happy weekend!!!
Beautiful, bright and cold. What an exciting finish to the race. Thank you for the video clip.
Have a warm happy weekend :-)
The colder the weather, the brighter the sky--is that how it works?
TO THE SKY
Sky by day or sky by night,
You are always my delight,
For in blaze or subtle hue,
Sky, my heart belongs to you.

What kind of day is it for the dogs after the race is over? I mean do they get special meals or treats or anything different?
