Who knew!

Dave and I found this great barbecue place in downtown Minneapolis after the bike show earlier this month. Its small but has a big history of celebrity visitors, and repeat customers for ribs and brisket. I personally loved the vintage neon sign and was cheered by how its multi-bulbed redness laughed in the face of that buttermilk sky.

Watch the Food Network's Neeleys when they visited this restaurant, and as an added bonus, you'll get to hear the true Minnesotan accent from the owner. See more red at Mary's Meme Ruby Tuesday that celebrates all things red. Enjoy!

What fun! Sadly I couldn't get the clip to play - it said 'missing plug in' where the video should be.Anyway, I can't tell one American accent from another;-)

The ruby neon sign is eerily like the flame of the burning wood in the fire pit of the Market BBQ smoker, or the color of the sauces. We are all conditioned to think of pre BBQ as being either KC or Memphis. I'd say the Twin Cities count just as much! I'll take brisket...

I was able to get the plug-in for the Mac. I like the Neely's!

ha! I'm not aware of the Minnesotan accent, but I'd sure love to hear it. I've been told occasionally that I have an accent, and I say "what?" it may be a Midwest thing?
I really like your neon sign, and I'm wishing I still lived up there so I could meet you at the Bar B Q Market for a brisket. have a great day Noni :)

They used to have super-garlic-y coleslaw back when I used to live in Mpls. If Ted's 19th Hole is still around, you should check them out, too. Total hole-in-the-wall, takeout only, and absolutely some of the best BBQ I ever ate.
