up before the birds

This is the view from my deck this morning facing east as the sun came up through scattered grey clouds.

Across the street, facing west, was that same sun shining on the tops of trees. At first glance they appear to be autumn-kissed but, in fact, are still very green.

Visit Skywatch Friday and be dazzled by skies from all over our planet.

Winter is an etching,
spring a watercolor,
summer an oil painting
and autumn a mosaic of them all.

I've seen that effect on the trees you're describing. It's very strange. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

By the way, I think I had a crush on Natalie Wood, and Rita Moreno (sp?).Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Lovely color effect on the trees -- strange, but lovely! And what great captures, Noni! Happy SWF! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I'm always grateful for people who are willing to get up early to catch the sun showing off!

SKY LOVE

Sky above, sky aglow,
Sky of rain and sky of snow;
Sky of hail, sky of sleet,
Sky cavorting o’er the street;
Sky of black, sky of blue,
In all seasons I love you!

Nice way to wake up! I like the contrast between the two directions. I had hoped for something similar this morning, but, alas, the eastern view didn't offer anything nearly as pretty as what you got and I gave that one up.

I like your second shot very much. Isn't it strange the way light plays tricks on us?
