E is for

Elated!
I found this black and white snapshot in a basket of photos in an antique shop in St. Paul recently. The boy on the far right next to the girl with her little concertina is named 'Chopper.'
The back of the photo reads:
'Chopper & the Jim Swoyer children on
his birthday in Nov. 1951.'
Always the sucker for old photos, the faces on these children made me elated and I couldn't leave the store without it. [Check out the old doll the other little boy is holding. And those braids: that could have been me a few years later.] Priceless expressions all, each in his or her own way. And so I put two and two together and decided that to be invited to Chopper's birthday party must have been enough to make them feel elated!

What a great picture! What would really be the ultimate is if someone on line sees it and recognizes the people in the picture or better yet, is in the picture.

Who would have thought someone would post a photo they know nothing about for this????? Those children do look elated and I loved the boy with the doll.

How cute! I've seen that type of doll b/4. I have a photo of one of my dbrs holding my kewpie doll when he was young.
I love old photos.

I found an old letter in an Antique shop and two years later I found out who the person was that recieved it and a few things about her.

Fun Post!

I have another friend that collects vintage photos. I never would have considered it, until I saw some of her collection. Now I'm jealous. I have to begin collecting at once.

Beautiful picture!

You have created a whole back story for a snapshot found by chance. What a talent!

Very interesting photo, and even more interesting that you purchased it and posted it. Wouldn't it be a hoot if someone in the picture wondered onto your blog!?!
