Way across the world, French photographer Robert Doisneau caught this photograph the year I was born and he called it 'Bouquet of Jonquils, Paris, 1950.'

Excellent 'J' post... I do like the B7W picture as well.. such happiness on show there...
I'm glad you liked my Jackdaw post... Jackdaws, Jays and Magpies are my favourites from the crow family... Jacks seem to be coming right into towns now....
Tom :O)
What a nice idea. Something different today when we have lit the stove to warm our ankles.
Sigh - I wish that the flowers were fresh of the season. That would mean spring and not autumn :-(
A very good J.
Oh what a lovely idea. I loved the B&W picture too. Thanks so much for sharing! My mum had a coat like the one in the photograph!
I love seeing the jonquils bloom each spring. They are a cheery note from God that spring is here
Very good J post. I love daffodils. In Holland we call them all narcissus, but I like the name of Jonquils. Good post Noni.
Lovely flowers! Thanks for shareing :o)
You have expanded my knowledge...
Also love the old black and white photo... Looks like it should be part of the old "Family of Man" exhibit...
i want spring to come back, those flowers are so lovely.
Thank you for the post, it was a real J (Jewel)
That Robert Doisneau photo is wonderful.
I am going to do some research and see if I can find a print of it here in Canada.
I know just the spot where I could hang it in my house.
Thanks for sharing.
Bear((( )))
Interesting choice of images the modern floral and the evocative mono.
I have a retro coat like hers. Not quite Isle of Man attire, but then neither is my beret.
That photo is rather wonderful, isn't it? And I think it looks better for being in black and white.
The jonquils .. I love them! Seems the wrong time of year for them to be blooming though - what happened? LOL!
lovely flowers. :)
My favorite grandmother passed away in 1958. Because I write, a distant cousin recently gave me a box of poetry my grandmother wrote many years ago. She referred to jonquils in a couple of her poems. I had no idea what they were. Thank you for clearing that up! Very enjoyable post. BJ
A lovely spring post! These are favourite flowers of mine. The B&W photograph is beautiful - so full of happiness.
I do love jonquils! As we're enjoying fall and dreading winter, thanks for the small reminder that spring will come again.
