All the sweetness

[please enlarge for better glimpse]

Today I'm dreaming of the delicious fragrance of sweet peas--which, along with the heady aroma of honeysuckle vines, I wish came distilled in a spray bottle for winter wear. These photos are from my first two seasons in our apartment when I actually had success growing these lovely flowers, believed to have first been spotted in Sicily by Franciscan monk named Francisco Cupani . The pink & blues were called Erica's Choice and I've forgotten the red's except for their perfect blue-red hues.

Here are sweet peas, on tiptoe for a flight
With wings of gentle flush o'er delicate white
And taper fingers clutching at all things,
To bind them all about with tiny rings.

Oh, I am trying sweet peas here. I found out the hard way that they like the wether a little cooler. I planted them in the heat last year. I have some seeds tryng to germinate inside now.

Lovely flowers, Noni.
I like their multicolour, but haven't seen or smell it before.

I remember my sister growing these by the picket fence when I was little....along with morning glory.

I'm enjoying the wonderful fragrance of the sweet Orange Blossom, reminding me of spring in Florida...which I miss so much, especially when spring is still so far away here in Iowa. But I'll enjoy the scent of your beautiful sweet peas...as I'm a candle maker and have access to my garden all year long, with the flick of a match.

I love the shot of your cat-in-the-box...too cute! Thanks for stopping by!

When I was young, my dad had a whole netted fenceline of sweet peas! He had a huge range of colours from a range of pale shades to a range of dark! I have never seen such an array since! Amazingly this was in Sydney NSW, Australia. Not really a favourable climate (too humid) for growing them!

Your lovely photo brought back a sweet memory!

Hi Noni

Such pretty sweet peas --I especially like the red ones as that color is rare. They make me dream of spring!
