its always something

Our sky today you could cut with a knife. We're having a heat wave of sorts, in the 40's and 50's but today when I was walking home from the coffee shop, this is all I could see of Owasso Lake. Note the ghost trees to the right. Between the black ice on the sidewalk, dirty snow, unearthed things and the pewter sky, an eerie walk indeed.

My new friend--someone who sat down across from me this a.m. and regaled me for 30 minutes with the whys and wherefores she had found herself in a Caribou Coffee, driving an hour in the fog to take her dad to his chemo session--said it is important to sing every morning as well as listen to the birds singing. So I did, all the way home.

Visit Skywatch Friday for more skies to sing about!

Fabulous photo, Noni :-) There's something fascinating and romantic about fog/mist - though only if you can sigh wistfully from the warmth and safety of your home;-) Going out in it is another matter altogether.

I do agree with Janice, Noni, what a fantastic capture and there is indeed something romantic and mysterious about the fog -- depending on where you are observing it from!! Always nice to meet someone cheerful and upbeat!! Hope you have a great weekend!

Oh be careful on the ice. I almost broke my back on it last year and I live here on the Gulf Coast. It was our first snow in forever. Looks eerie. We had a bad fog today too.

This photos is very stunning. Love it! Here in Michigan we have a heat wave for we reach to 54F awesomeness!

A really beautiful picture in an eerie and mysterious sort of way - you have captured the tree and the ghostly images quite nicely, - would love to have heard you singing in the fog!

Hiya,
I must have been here before, because I was telling myself to 'want what I have' , and thinking where I 'd read that recently :-)
A good basic photo came out of that thick fog.

Fog--you've made me realize that I haven't seen any fog since living in the desert. Maybe it's time for a visit to the foggy San Francisco of my childhood...

Lovely, and yes, an eerie photo.

Beautiful photo!

Pewter sky is a good expression for a grey sky without any blue or white streaks in it. The tree stands out brave and independent.

I love what your new friend advised. it's beautiful, and so is your photo. it's a trade-off isn't it? we get warmer weather but foggy skies. but...there is something moody, introspective, and beautiful about those skies too. have a beautiful weekend, and happy SWF!!!

Beautiful photo. I've always loved the solitary tree against whatever backdrop, and I've always loved mist/fog ;-)

It is nice to return to visiting blogs. I really love this photo. I also really like you blog design. I am guessing you are experiencing the same cold we are in our neck of the weels.
