Camera Critters #17 on the Green

Along the same stretch of fluorescent green algae-covered water, two creatures co-exist without giving each other much thought. Both remain quiet, the turtle lazily soaks up the sun on its sandy shell, keeping one beady eye on my camera while down the log a bit a Green Heron stands perfectly still ready to nab the next unsuspecting fish. Too lethargic or too busy, they both courteously gave me enough time to snap these photos to share and I was grateful.

These are part of Camera Critters, a meme hosted by Misty Dawn. To see more amazing and well loved animals, birds and reptiles, or maybe join in the fun, visit here.

Noni: What a great capture, that is a completely algea covered pond. I've wanted to catch one of those Green Herons but no luck yet.

I am always pleased to see turtles sunning themselves, and that's a nice capture. Thanks for sharing.

These are great photos. Turtles are a favorite of mine anyway.
How did I miss you earlier in Camera Critters? Did you post late? Good thing I try to go to your blog often, and found you today.

Great shots of the turtle and heron. That green water certainly holds some appeal for them but not for me!
