Mrs Nesbitt's Meme ABC Wednesday has arrived at the letter 'L" for today and all I could imagine from all the 'L' words was lavender...that delightful herb, color, fragrance in all its many forms. Soft on the senses. Sweet reminder of spring.
Half purple/half lavender iris and 
the crayon box lavender of wild phlox in a ditch next to the railroad tracks last summer.
and my ever present eggplant with a colorway from deep purple to nearly white all on one fruit.
Since lavender resembles wild imaginings to me, this front porch I saw on one of my walks drew my eyes straight into the little nook, the comely lavender canvas chair and the hydrangea in its lavender stage before turning blue. I wanted to call this home. . .

I can never pass lavender without touching the flowers and smelling my fingers.
I love the wild phlox (Dame's Rocket or Sweet Rocket). Funny how it grows along the tracks and in scrub areas, but I can't get it to grow in my yard. I remember it growing on a wooded vacant lot across the street from my grandma's. Then this summer, I saw it growing in a wooded vacant lot in Bismarck. What childhood memories that brought back!
I can smell it from over here, but that may also be because I have just left a place where they were blooming...
Lavender is my favourite scent. It is so calming.

Such lovely lavender hues! Lavender is a fragrance I also love. I'd also like to move right in to that front porch, and even the roof of the house seems to have lavender shadows.

Mmmm... Lavender is my all time favorite! Everything about it is so magical.. just before bed I'll spray the essence of Lavender on my pillow and sink into it... ah... so nice... it has shown to relieve stress, headaches and seizures =)

It is a beautiful color. It was my favorite color in the crayon box. Every princess in my coloring books wore lavender gowns.
